Dearly Beloved in Christ;
“The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the defence of my life; Whom
shall I dread” Ps.27:1.
We bring you greetings in the Name of
our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ the soon coming King of Kings
and Lord of Lords.
Trip to the States this Summer:
The purpose of our trip was fourfold.
First - The Office of Grace Baptist
Mission needed relocation because Sis. Marthat and her husband
Bro. Van Holmes have stepped down due to ill health.
They brought Sis. Amy Kiefer to us
as the New Secretary /Treasurer. Originally we were hoping
Bro. Joe Souder and his wife Shar would be able to help, but
because of their new born baby they could not help.
Please be in prayer for Sis. Amy. And
also make note of the New Mission Address which is: Grace
Baptist Mission - Ghana, P. O. Box 65, Clifford,
PA. 18413. Tel. 570-434-2903 or 570-906-0836.
The Second purpose was to attend the Grace
Baptist Mission Board Meeting. This year's meeting was well
attended - for which we praised the Lord. We would like to encourage
the supporting churches to send delegates to the annual meeting.
We want all the supporting churches to be part of the decision
making of the Board.
The third purpose was to take Deborah
back to PCC.
She returned to the States in July and
we spent some time with her in Indiana. We left her there and
continued with our trip. We met her again in Atlanta, Georgia
and went with her to PCC on September 1st.
We left PCC on the 3rd of September
after making sure that all was well with her. Be in prayer
for her as she studies Mission/ Broadcasting.
Enoch was not able to come this year.
We trust he will come over next year. Moody Bible has registered
him for the distance learning program. Pray for him - he is
now helping me in the Office here.
The fourth purpose was to get support
to complete the First Floor of our school building.
As a matter of fact, Hurricane Katrina
had an impact in this area. We also had a lot of problems with
our Dodge Voyager. The transmission went out when we went
to Indiana.
In August it was rebuilt and we were given
a one Year Warranty. But on our return from PCC the Trasmission
went out again in Greenville, South Carolina. The man who rebuilt
it in Indianapolis, Indiana refused to honor his promise, it
cost us $2600 for the two rebuilding. We ended up renting a
car for two weeks which cost us $500.
Praise the Lord, we have all the 5400sq.ft.
of ceramic tiles for the school ground floor. Thanks to all
the brethren who helped us in getting the tiles. It would
have cost us almost $7000 to buy them in Ghana. To God be the
Glory.
The School Building and the School update:
SPECIAL THANKS to all the pastors and
brethren who help us raised the funds to ship the tiles
for the school. We still need at least $2500 to clear the
supplies when they arrive in the first week of November.
We also need about 100 bags of white cement to lay the tiles
($1500). We will need $5000 for electrical, plumbing and plastering.
Please let us know if you would like to
help. A brother and his wife from Calvary Baptist Church in
Hummels Wharf, PA. are coming for one month, December 1st
to the 31st to help us lay the tiles.
We must have all the materials available for when they get here.
Maybe you will make this a Christmas gift for our students and
the ministry here.
We also want to encourage you to send
in the Coins cards for the blocks for the first floor.
School has re-opened. We are now working
on new admissions which will be completed by the end of October.
Be in prayer with us.
Clinic Update:
Please continue to pray for a Nurse for this
mission outreach.
We also need donations of medications like:
Drugs; De-worming medicines, Cough
Mixtures. Pain killers like, Aspirins, Tylenols, Ibuprofens,
Multi-Vitamins, Tums etc.
Lab equipment.
Batteries and more Solar Panels
to run refrigerator for the Clinic.
The Churches and Pastors:
We are planning to go to the outreach in
northern Ghana before the end of the year to baptize the
new believers in Namu, Kpadja and Beposo. We
could not get a newer Van to replace our current 1992 Dodge
Van which is giving us a lot of mechanical problems. We have
been able to buy overhauling gaskets, rings and bearings
to work on the current Engine. Pray that it will come out fine.
Continue to pray for the men in training
to lead the churches. There are others to be trained, but we
need $50 per month for a Village pastor. Praise the Lord for
those who are helping in this area - Jesus will repay.
We have other men in Accra undergoing pastoral
training. Others are studying by correspondence.
The Radio Ministry:
The Radio station that is currently airing
our program has increased the charge for airtime to $60 per
week. Pray that the Lord will provide the funds for this ministry
which is a source of blessing to many in the city of 4
million. We need sponsors, CDs. We still need cassettes, tapes,
messages from pastors, et c to make this ministry more effective
for the glory of the Lord. Thanks to those who help once in
a while.
Please take note of the new address in
the USA for The mission:
Grace Baptist Mission-Ghana
PO Box 65
PA. 18413.
Tel.570-434-2144
Please be in
prayer with us as we face a lot of challenges ahead of us. May
the Lord God Almighty continue to bless you all, co-workers
in ministry.
