Dearly Beloved;

Greetings in the name of Our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ. It is a real privilege to be co-workers with our Lord.

First Mission Group form the States

On the 20th of March a 17 member Mission Team led by Dr. Allen MacFarland from Virginia and Pastor Smith from Michigan arrived in Ghana. The 22nd was our fellowship of Churches annual Bible Conference and  Dr. MacFarland  and Pastor Smith  were the main speakers. The topics were  1. Living your conviction  and  2. Choosing a life mate. The Men really challenged our people and they were a blessing to all of us. Our people are requesting more of such conferences and topics

The Team then went to Ho in the Volta region for about nine days of evangelistic meetings. They returned to Accra on the 2nd of April for a Fellowship dinner at our home where they were treated to a real Ghanaian meal.  The Team left for the States on the 3rd of April promising to come back next year with a bigger number.

Your visits are an encouragement to us, so keep it up.

Easter and Baptismal Service at BBC

Easter is always a special time for us and this year we had a special family time after the morning service where a meal was provided for those in need, followed by a baptismal service We had five candidates, but only two were prepared for the baptism. We thank the Lord for them - pray for the other three.

The King of Kings Youth Club

The King of Kings Youth Club is also doing very well now, with more than 30 children, at the Bible Baptist Church.

Pray for more leaders to help - that is the area of concern now.

BIPS & BIPS Sec/Tech & the Building Project

School re-opened on the 23rd of April. Our intake is still low but we are working and trusting the Lord to bring in the students. A dear lady in our educational system has come forward to help with recruitment, her name is Barbara. Be in prayer for her.

The Bible School has also reopened. We were expecting 17 students but ten of them said they do not have funds for the fee, which  is  $500 per trimester, which come to $125 per Month. We are, therefore, appealing to all our brethren and churches who would like to invest in the lives of these men who are called to preach the Word and to plant churches. Please let us know if the Lord is burdening you to be part of the training of men for the Ministry.

The Building Project

We still need your donation to complete the first floor of the new building. 50 bags of cement for plastering work on the back - $500, nine toilet sets - $2250, Septic Tank and overhead water tank - $1000,  Sand and labor - $1250.   Total $5000. We need at least ten churches to donate $500 each or 50 brethren to donate $100 each. This first phase of the building will then be complete and we will dedicate it for the glory of the Lord. Please consider a special donation.

Trip to Northern Ghana

Our trip to the north came on between April 14th through to the 17th - it was the most adventurous of all our trips.

We left Accra about 7:30 am. On reaching a town close to the Nation’s main water works we had to stop to weld our exhaust due to some bad ramps on the road, that took us two hours. We then continued and by noon we were at the House of Hope Orphanage at Kledjo in the Volta region.

Before we took off we noticed that the fuel was not coming into the carburetor, so we stopped at Hohoe to get a Mechanic to check it for us. We left Honoe about 2:00pm hoping to be in Salaga by 7:00pm.

About 20minutes into our journey we met with a very heavy storm which forced us to stop for almost one hour.

We then continued and as soon as we crossed a bridge over the River Oti, which is one of the tributaries of the Volta Lake, the fuel stopped flowing into the carburetor again, this time it was in the night and there was no mechanic there. We managed to get to a small village in the Northern Region call Moba, which is a village 9 miles from Bimbila and 46 miles from Salaga. The people welcomed us and gave us a place to stay for the night.

We got up at 6:00 am (this was Sunday morning) only to find one of our back tires down. We replaced it with our spare and attempted to get the fuel into the carburetor manually to take us to Bimbila. After traveling  for three miles the fuel  miraculously   started flowing again, so we did not stop at Bimbila and we continued, hoping to get to Salaga by  9.00 am to have the carburetor checked before going to the village. After traveling 43 miles, the van went into a big pothole at another small village 3 miles from Salaga. We lost one of the front joint bolts. Again a leader for the Village called Sisipe (i.e. all well wishers are welcome)   came to offer his Motor Bike to get us a Mechanic from Salaga to come and help. This was around 10 am. It took the mechanic about 4 hours to fix the van.

During the four hours we were  sharing the time together, but since it was the Lord’s day and I did not know how long we would be in the village, I asked some of the people  to tell me more about the village. They  told  me  they are mostly Moslems.  So I gathered  the children and started teaching them to memorize God’s Word (see the picture below). Within one hour the children, about 30, from the ages of  1—14, were able to recite John 3:16.

In appreciation I gave all of them some candies I had with me.

I am sure you know what happened after the candies,  well  the children  started calling me John 3:16 and were following me for more candies.  We were not happy when our van had the problem but we were very happy when we left the village because the WORD had been sown in the lives of these children. The Lord said,   “So shall my Word  be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” Isa. 55:11.

are welcome) near Salaga.

Arrival in Kpadjai-Salaga

We arrived in Kpadjai about 6:30pm after stopping in Salaga to get the front end line up.

To our surprise the coordinator of the ministry had a family problem in Kumasi so he left before we got to the Village, leaving a message that the Baptism cannot go ahead so we should fix a new date.

We met  with the brethren and the area pastors on Monday and shared the Word with them, gave them used clothing  to be distributed to all  the village churches and the people of Kpadjai. We  then went and fixed a solar panel  for another chief in another village called Lonto, where  some of our brethren from the States stay when we go to the Village.

The Chief’s house is next to a Police post, so we extended the light to the Police to help them with their work. The police Officer in charge was extremely grateful. To God be the glory.

On our way back to Accra we  stopped  again at the House of Hope Orphanage and spent some time with the children and their Mother Sister Lizzy. The children recited scriptures and sang to our admiration and for the glory of God. We got back to Accra at 6:00pm on the 17th. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised.

Brthren, pray for us for a better van for the outreach ministry in Ghana and please donate for a van. We need at least $10 000 for a good van. We just cannot go to the north with the current van.

Energy Crises in Ghana

We have been hit with another energy CRISIS in Ghana and this is the worse yet, since the one we had in the ‘90’s. Our Hydro-Electric Power from the Volta lake is now in operation with two (2) generators instead of six (6). This has led to power rationing, twelve (12) hours of power every other day and at times 15 hours of black out a day. This is affecting everything in the country. Brethren Pray for us. My goal of Solar for our entire ministry is getting real. Will you help?

The Sound of Grace Ministry

We are now covering almost half of the country with our weekly broadcast but the cost has also gone up. Your donation to this ministry will help us reach millions.

Moringa Tree Project

As stated in our last news letter, MORINGA is becoming a household word in Ghana. Some call it the Tree for Life, the Miracle Tree, the Pharmaceutical powerhouse, etc. It is believed to be one of the most powerful health-enhancing plants in the world.

Gram for Gram, Moringa leaves contain:

1. 7 times the Vitamin C in Orange,

2. 3 times the Potassium in Banana,

3. 2 times the Protein in Milk,

4. 4  times the Vitamin A in carrot, and

5. 4 times the Calcium in Milk.  Etc.

We are embarking on a mass planting of this Miracle tree, but we need your assistance. Our goal is to plant between ten to twenty acres this Year.  The rain has started, and within nine months we can start harvesting the leaves, dry it and turn it into POWDER for use. We need between $5000 to $10,000 for this LIFE SAVING product.  If you cannot give but know a foundation that can help, please let us know.

This Tree reminds me of the Tree of Life for the Healing of the Nations in Rev. 22:2.

We can go to www.echo.org for more information; I got the seed from them in 1989.  Or www.moringagardencircle.org

The Quarshie Family

Adelaide is doing much better these days with her blood pressure and health in general. Praise the Lord for Moringa, the miracle tree.  Enoch is enjoying the computer school he is attending. Deborah needs to get back to school but we need funds for her fee, the fee is now $6000 for the Semester. Will you be praying and help her with the fee. You can send your donation to the Mission Office or to PCC. in Florida. God bless you.

ABOVE: Update on the school building. This is
half of the building. The back half needs plastering

Prayer Requests

1. Continued health and strength for Noah and Adelaide. Wisdom and financial support for the work.

2. God’s continued grace and blessing in their lives. Also the need for Deborah’s school fees.

3. School plans include two more floors to be built on top of the one that is almost finished. $5000 is needed to finish the first floor. A school complex from preschool through high school and a seminary is our goal for this ministry.

4. Growth for the believers who have been baptized. Hunger for the Word. Desire to learn the “hidden mysteries” through the Holy Spirit’s teaching.

5. Funds for the Bible Baptist Church in Accra to re-roof the church.

6. Pray for sponsors for the Bible students.

7. Plans for North Ghana for the one square mile given to the mission for the development of a church, infirmary and library (This land is great for Moringa and Shea project).  The local folks will construct the buildings and the Mission will be responsible to roof them.  Pray for a Nurse or Physician’s Assistant type person. For the Clinic. Pray for the Chief and His under chiefs and elders.

8. Need for a Newer  Van for the Outreach  work and funding for the Moringa project.

9. Pray for our Energy Crisis. Pray for the House of Hope Orphanage and Sis. Lizzy.
