Dearly Beloved;
The Psalmist said, " Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands. Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee" Ps.66:1-2.
We praise the Lord for ushering us into the Year 2008. We count it a blessing to be co-workers with our Lord.
In keeping with our goal of ministering to the whole man we made some donations at the end of the year.
First Donation
To the Accra School of the Mentally handicapped we donated food iterms which included the rice, cooking oil and oats we got from Bro. Joe Skasko of the Bethesda Rescue Mission. We also gave them some used clothing, medical items and books.
The Ghana News Agency, Ghanaian Times and TV Africa gave a coverge.
The Head Master and the Staff of the Institute expressed their special appreciation for our donation.
We also donated rice, cooking oil and oats to the House of Hope Orphanage in Hohoe, in the Volta Region and on the first Saturday of this Year (Jan.5th) we gave out over 500 used pieces of clothing, shoes and Gospel Tracts to the people in the neighbourhood of the Bible Baptist Church.
Bible Baptist Church Annual Music Festival
The Festival was held on the 29th of December. Choristers from Berean Baptist and Maranatha Baptist came to support the BBC Choir. It was a sight to behold and it gave us a good taste of what to expect in Glory.
BIPS and BIPS Hign School
Things are going fine in both the college and the high school. The New Principal for the high School is doing a great job.
Pray also for sponsors for the Bible School students Currently we have two students that need urgent assistance due to the economic hardship now in the country.
Some of the High School Chidren are also facing the same problem.
Trip to Northern Ghana
We were scheduled to go to Northern Ghana to minister and to baptise some 25 new believers, but we heard that there is an outbreak of CMS in Northern Ghana so our family Doctor adviced us not to go until the first rain in March.
Please be in prayer for the brethren in Northern Ghana, for the village pastors and their people, and for our trip in March or April.
Radio Ministry
The weekly Soung of Grace Today Broadcast is going well.
Some two years ago we were planning to start our own radio station in order to preach the Word daily and to educate our people in geneal. We could not persue this noble aim due to the amount involved.
This week one of the radio technicians who work with the station that handles our weekly programme informed me that there is an opening this year for a Community/Educational Broadcast and that he and another technician are more than willing to help us get the radio license and a transmitter. The license will cost only $700. Originally I was told it would cost $2000. They can also get us a 500 watt transmitter that can cover the city of Accra and Tema with a population of over 4 million people at a cost of $800. An antennea could be built for under $2000.
Brethren this is a GOLDEN opportunity for the Gospel Ministry here. The priority now is the radio license. Will you help us? Maybe you can take a special offering or just make a special donation.
We Must apply before the end of March this Year. New regulations will soon come out for Communication Licenses and this could change everything. Will you prayerfully consider this URGENT need.
We are also asking for a suggested name for the Station. Maybe the one who will help with the license fee can suggest a name? Here are some names we have received - HOPE FM and ALIVE FM. Let us know what you think ASAP. Remember the license fee is $700, the transmiter is $800 and the antennea is about $2000. Please mark what your donation is for.
Moringa Project
The Lord has answered our prayers for our Moringa production. The Ghana Center for Scientific Reseach Into Plant Medicine has approved our Moringa Product. We are helping many people with Malaria, Blood Pressure, Diabetes, mal-nutrition, etc.
The Months of January through March is very dry here so we cannot harvest the Moringa. If we had a well on the two acre farm and could irrigate, we could then harvest year round, but we do not have the funds.
Also the big Moringa Tree in our house is producing smany fruits which means more seeds for planting. We could get over 3000 seeds this year which means 3000 more Moringa Trees. Do you know someone who can help? To drill a well we will need at least $4000. We already have a water pump thanks to Bro. Bowels. We will need at least $2000 to cultivate the 3000 plants. That will give us 4000 plants this year. Let us know if you would like to help us in this area.
Finally our daughter Debbie needs help with her school fees. She needs $900 by March 15th. Thanks to all those who have been helping. You can send whatever you want to help her direct to the school PCC. Debbie will gaduate this fall.
