Grace Baptist Mission

The King of Kings Youth Club attendance has almost doubled from 30 last year to over 50 this year. One of the Churches in Accra that was having a leadership problem with the Club has reorganized with almost 100 children. We are planning to have the annual Bible Quiz towards the end of November.

Northern Ghana Outreach

We are planning to go up north at the end of November. The Lord has given us a Vehicle for this Ministry and we are planning to ship it in September along with other donations like Dental equipment, a radio station antenna, food items, etc.

One of the major needs in the Northern Ministry in addition to sponsoring the pastors is BOOKS - Pastors’ study books! If you can help in this area, it will be greatly appreciated.

To donate for the books - an average book for the pastors' study is between $15 to $50 per book.

Radio Station 'Alive FM'

When I sent you the last newsetter I stated that our proposed name for the Radio Station was “Glory FM.” Well, when we went in to apply for the License we were asked to Register the Station first. At the registration Office we found out that someone has registered that name even though he was not operating a radio station. We have therefore decided that since we are serving a Living Savior, we should use the name “ALIVE FM.”

We did put in the application and by the grace of our Lord our Radio Station has been Registered as a Community/Educational FM Station. To God Alone Be The Glory.

On my arrival in the States I visited New Hope Bible Fellowship in New York. After updating them on the Radio Station and the urgent need for funds for the License and an antenna they donated an antenna behind their church building to be used for ALIVE FM in Ghana. When God starts a work he supplies the needs through his people.

We are now waiting for the funds for the License which is $1500. We also need a DJ Microphone. The Microphone is between $260 and $500. At present we need an EXITER. The one we are using is a borrowed one. The EXITER selects the frequency. New ones are over $5000, but we can get a good used one for between $1200 and $2500.

We are still doing the Test Transmission but are aiming at January 1st, 2009, as the launching day for ALIVE FM.

The supporting Churches are encouraged to tell the pastors to send their messages for us to put on Air in Accra, with a population of 4.5 Million.

Will you pray and help us with the Funds we need for this OPEN DOOR? A Total of $5000 will meet all the need, but any amount is welcome - just mark it for “ALIVE FM.” May be you can make it a Thanksgiving or a Christmas gift.

I firmly believe God is going to do something very GREAT IN GHANA!!!

Our Schools

Continue to pray for the High School. We have put in place an interim Management Board to work out modalities to operate the High School.

Some of the recommendations are that we get Sponsors for the students. The Fee is $60 per Term of three (3) Months or $180 per year per student. Mission groups, ladies fellowships, youth groups, Sunday School groups, families and individuals can all sponsor. We will send the name and picture of the student. You will be able to write to the student through the Mission and the student will also write through the Mission Office. Please let us know if you want to help.

We also want to encourage short term Mission work, from Two weeks to One year to teach English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art and Computers. This will help us take in more students on a Scholarship basis. Please let us know if you felt led of the Lord to help in this area.

Finally for the Business inclined people we need Dorms built to house the Students, because most of the parents want to send their children to boarding schools due to the high cost of gas which is affecting transportation. We have the Land for the building but we do not have the funds. We are therefore asking business people to either help us to build the dorms for us to pay back or they can put up the building and then after they collect the funds they invested with interest, they can turn the building over to us or they can become partners with the mission on the school. Those interested can contact us for more details.

The above also applies to the Bible School. The students are facing the same financial problems that the High School Students are facing. Be in much prayer for the School.

Moringa Project

We have been able to open a store for our Moringa products on Ebay. You can place an order for it when you go to Ebay. Click on specific store and then type in “gsmoringaproducts” - this will take you to our store.

Many people are recovering from various sicknesses, cancer, malaria, Blood Pressure, Diabetes, sleeplessness - you name it.

We still need you to help us plant more Moringa Trees. We need a good Grinding Mill that will grind the dry Moringa Leaves into fine flour. We also need to drill a well to help us water the plants. $4000 will give us a well.

Whatever area you can help in will be appreciated.

Praise and Prayer Requests

Praise the Lord for the various donations - the Vehicles for the Ministry, Dental Equipment, Antenna, food, etc.
Safe arrival in the States. Adelaide could not come this time due to the high air fare.
We continue to praise the Lord for all of our supporters. Thanks for your faithful support of the Lord’s work.
Pray for the Quarshie Family - for God' protection and guidance. Deborah will graduate from college next May.
Pray for the High School and the Bible School for the Lord to provide for the students.
Pray for the Radio Station, the need of Funds for the License and other equipment ($5000).
Pray for the Needs of the Moringa Project - funds for the farm work (especially the Well and the Grinding Mill).
Pray for the Ministry in Northern Ghana and our planned Trip at the end of November.
Continue to pray for the economic crisis in Ghana and in the US. It is having a great impact on us.
Pray for the need of funds to ship the donations to Ghana - Vehicle, Dental equipment, Radio Antenna, Food Items, etc. Total need for the Shipment which includes transportation within the US for moving things to the dock is $9000.
